Chaz came to Stray Rescue after a good Samaritan saved him from what looked like a certain death when his previous "owners" threw him out of their truck window as they drove through a busy intersection. And no, they didn't stop to let him out. They literally threw him out without slowing down. The good Samaritan was confused about what to do; follow the truck and call the police or stop and help the dog. He made the right choice to stop and help the dog. Poor Chaz was shaken up and confused. He had obviously been mistreated and neglected. He was underweight and not very active. A trip to the vet showed he had 2 different kinds of intestinal worms, a bad case of heartworms and a bacterial infection in both ears. Chaz spent the summer being healed from all his illnesses. He now has a clean bill of health, is up to date on all his shots, is neutered and has gained almost 20 lbs. He is crate trained and completely house broken and will go to the door when he needs to go out. Although he was so horribly treated in the past, he is a very loving dog who is eager to please. He is learning commands and knows verbal and hand signals for sit, lay down and stay. Chaz loves to snuggle and be petted. He loves attention. Chaz has been around other dogs but takes time to feel comfortable around them. He is a bit too curious about cats so it would be best if he went to a cat-free home. If you would like to meet this great guy please fill out one of the online applications and his foster dad will give you a call. Chaz will make someone a wonderful, loving pet.
