This sweet and handsome guy is Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock is part of our Pound Assistance Program. When he was rescued from the City Pound, he had some health issues, including a large tumor and a degenerative hip. After some needed medical care, he is feeling much better. His tumor ended up being benign and he had reconstructive surgery on his hips and he’s now getting around very well. He takes a daily glucosamine supplement to keep his hips in tip top shape and to manage his arthritis. Sherlock has a super sweet disposition and is always wagging his tail when his foster parents are near him. He loves to sit right by his foster parents and follows them all over the house. He enjoys going on short walks, loves car rides and is happy just hanging out at the house too. He loves everyone he meets including other dogs. He’s currently living with his three foster sisters of various sizes. We’re not sure if he likes cats or not, but while he stayed at the vet’s office, he wouldn’t even look at them. Even though he likes everyone, Sherlock would be better in a home without small children so they don’t fall or jump on him with his arthritis. Sherlock is potty trained and has free roam of the house when his foster parents aren’t home. He is current on all of his vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. Sherlock is eligible for the Senior for Seniors Program and would make a great companion for someone who wants a laid back, sweet dog.
